Taurus New Moon
Taurus New Moon on May 19, 2023 at 9:53AM MST, with energies perfecting at 28degrees Taurus.
I am sure there have been other intense Taurus moments through my lifetime, this one feels it has an overwhelming extra-ness to it. Here are some other planetary happenings from our perspective on Earth:
Jupiter this week ingress into Taurus, then created a grand square with Pluto in Aquarius, North and South Lunar Nodes, and Mars In the final degrees of Cancer. Mercury in Taurus also stationed direct this week and is also conjunct the North Node and Jupiter in the Taurus corner of the grand square. Saturn In Pisces brings a sextile to Mercury, helping the grand square communicate with foundation, practicality, and what should be celebrated because we worked really hard to get here. Squares are about the creative tension nature gives us, they help us grow into ourselves more. This grand square is in the early degrees of Taurus, where the Full Moon Eclipse was two weeks ago. This tells me a lot, first it shares that we are now in the phase of the eclipse energy where we may have received some memos or inclining as to what we feel drawn to manifest next in our lives. Now we are getting some tension about what we are inclined to do, things are being drawn out through our Law of Attraction, helping clear out and purify those desires, this is a beautiful way to strengthen anything we do and make with our lives in a loving way. It evokes the healing energy to feel unexpressed emotions that will help unblock ourselves and our desires in life. With the New Moon in the later degrees of the same Taurus energy- we already known a lot about these memos and inclining that we are planting for our feature harvest, we have some strategy we can impart from past experiences to work from. This can hep us balance out the knowns and unknowns being triggered through the grand square. We can have faith in ourselves that some of what is happening around us is not new information or new experiences, that what needs to be cleared away now is how we make room to sew in those New Moon seeds for our feature.
Neptune in Pisces and Mars in Cancer make a sextile aspect to the Sun and Moon in Taurus. Depending on where you are in the world this next sentence may not be your experience: With that much water in a gentle aspect, where is all the water on Earth? Why are we in such a draught state? Sextile are more known to bring forward an ease to our development and process, in my experience they also don’t get enough attention. Tougher aspects like conjunctions, oppositions and squares make a lot of noise, they demand your attention. Softer, more gentle aspects like trines and sextile are sweetly there helping you along or not, allowing you to miss a beautiful opportunity that could bring some flow in your life. There are some downsides to these softer aspects, that is a tale for another time as that would distract me from my wonder of where is all the water. Currently in my location and many other places in the world, we are under a draught, and its been years building to this very dry place, so dry that the forest fires have burst forth in early spring instead of the ‘usual’ late summer heat. When I ask the question of where is the water, I get this feeling that we have missed an opportunity, missed out on some pivotal shifts, both personally and collectively. Mars and Neptune are currently dancing in a trine to each other, working together for our highest good- maybe that is the missing detail, we are not working together for our personal and collective highest good, highest expressions of love towards self and each other, and likely therefore Mother Earth. Water signs are about emotions, among other things, so when the land is devoid of water, maybe we need to wonder where our emotions are? Maybe it is about working together to reach a new level of being emotionally supportive towards each other no matter what. Really believe that we are all in this together. Together we can reach goals so high we couldn’t have imagined ever doing it on our own. What comes to mind is my personal tribe, and this dream of coming together, likely in a cabin (with wifi because we have serious playful work to get done). We all have these traits and gifts that can help each other get where we are going, elevate each other- that sense of love rushing in leaves me feeling like I found where the water is, releasing my inner draught, and maybe theirs too. In the Neptune way, and pull Mars in- meditate with passion and fully activate bringing more water/emotion in essence and realness into your life.
With all seriousness, I am asking for your prayers of literal rain for Canada, and North America, and the other parts of the world who are also in draught.
Grandmother Moon, please help me understand the energy around me and within me as I work to remove what blocks me from my real self in this New Moon in Taurus.
I cannot help but feel like I reached a new essence about Taurus that is not largely talked about: playing and a misguided assumption of what lazy is. I am not talking about the laziness of self sabotage, the kind where you choose to not help yourself because you actually want to be this way in your life and therefore do nothing about helping yourself kind of lazy. I am talking about the projection from others of you being lazy because they don’t like how you are out enjoying your life and doing what you want with your life. Take the Neptune sextile for example: you simply enjoy breathing in and smiling, so you make more time for your mediation with nature and yourself to achieve this personal goal. But to others- you are doing nothing with your precious life. That description of lazy is what feels misguided to me. I feel I have to be careful with my words here- I personally landed on some personal hurts, and I don’t want the point to be about that. The point I would really like to make is the distinction of slowing down to enjoy the pleasures in life, a life that you created and made for yourself. Being present with yourself, others and the world around you. That is not laziness, that is the mindfulness I feel we are working towards. Yes, that can mean some things either do not get done or are done in a different way- this can also mean the collective status quo is having a hard time reconciling these new ways, so they name-call and pull us down with a projection of laziness.
Another misguided attribute of Taurus would be stubbornness. Yes the dark side, or shadow, would be not moving from your stance on something when you really should consider it. Though what if you know deeply what you want, feel the pull in your heart and soul for it, are willing to take your own personal risk and effort towards it? That is a form of stubborn that seems personally meaningful to each of us, and often we get pulled-down in some way because others want us to do something or join them somewhere else.
When I look at these from a time and resource perspective: mindfully spending my time engaged in the life that I long to create and make for myself is my own personal path, it is how I choose to manifest and create my own life. I and you only have so much time on this Earth, however long that may be, and I need to gather certain and sometimes specific resources together in order to make my longings come true, making them into being, making them materialize from thin air and into my hands. You do the same, you allocate your time and energy towards your goals and dreams.
I feel this aspect of Taurus in each of us is really important. We all have Taurus energy in our charts. We may not have been born with any planetary energy, but when planets cross through that area of our charts, your inner Taurus energy is engaged. As we grow and develop ourselves, we learn what is really important and what is less important to pull our time and resources together and focus on. Written in another way- where Taurus lands for you in your chart, and/or the aspects made towards your Taurus help bring this energy out in you. If this were a high stakes bet- my bet would be everyone on Earth has been name-called Lazy or Stubborn at some point in their life. Indicating that the area of your life and what you were doing was possibly coming from the deepest parts of you, expressing desires that didn’t likely flow with someone else’s idea of what they thought you should be doing. Make no mistake, we all know that there are tasks that we would rather not do and sometimes have to do them. That list looks different from person to person and not giving these tasks as much energy or time does not mean we are lazy, it means that is not our focus and desire.
Another attribute about the essence of Taurus is hard working. In my learnings of Astrology, when you look at key words that make up the essence of a sign, hard working paired with laziness took a while to reconcile. Taking shape in the perspective that no one person is hardworking in every area of their life, in equal proportions is how we can navigate this reconciliation. This thought circles us back to other’s projections of laziness. You likely may be really great and hard working in one or two ares of your life, and some other areas get less of your attention. Consider Taurus as symbol of a herd animal, the cow/bull. In a more loving way, we can look to our tribe and community and see how we all support each other, help each other to fill in those task related gaps instead of pull each other down. Leaving us to believe that it is normal to have to do everything perfectly and on your own. Yes sometimes it takes a deep tenacious spirit to chart a path in your life your community does not or chooses not to understand of you, leaving you to feel like an outsider and isolated for a while. They either come around or you find a new herd. Herds, tribes and communities that work hard together often find themselves in the blissful attributes of the Taurus expression- being able to savour, enjoy, embody and feel the vibrational energy of love moving through their bodies. They are able to appreciate the physical manifestation of their individual life and are capable of sharing what they can with those around them- everyone eats, laughs and experiences joy in healthy tribes and communities. In a healthy tribe, if someone is truly not physically doing what their heart longs for, the tribe helps them, not pull down through name calling and other unsupportive actions. But through gently asking and being present with them. Sometimes that person needs a medicine called play. Sometimes they need someone to guide them down to the river, even though it has just been released from winter’s ice, and go for a splash. Maybe it’s rolling around in the grasses right after the snow melts. The mindful point is that playing is a medicine we can reach for and do with others when we feel stuck or have been too hard on ourselves because of projections that are actually not about us and why we embody life on Earth- to enjoy it.
These are exciting times if you choose to sense about it that way.
With much love,
Stephany
