Pisces Full Moon
Pisces Full Moon on August 30, 2023 @ 7:35pm MST, with energies perfecting at 07degrees Pisces.
When I feel into the chart of this Moon, I notice some interesting details. First that only Saturn is making a direct Moon Sun aspect, via conjunction with Moon and opposition with Sun. Second, that the shift manager for both Pisces and Virgo at this degree is Venus. I need to add that Every astrological sign has a planet associated to the whole of the sign, kinda like an executive director. Then because there are 30 degrees within each sign that have their own unique qualities- deacons, or what I like to refer to them as shift managers, they are then further divided into 10degree segments. These deacons draw out and fine tune the sum of the astrological wheel. So with Venus on shift for Moon, Sun and Saturn while we explore the Virgo Pisces axis this Full Moon giving our planets a chance to work in a very Venusian way. I feel that is an important note- Saturn like everyone else can do beautiful work. Like all of us, our ability to do our work often depends who is on shift helping guide us through. Can Venus allow us to get carried away on the shadowy parts of Venus while she guides us? Totally possible. But like all things, that pin points our areas of healing and growth. So if we are getting caught in Venusian details (Ex: thinking we have oodlles of time to get it the way we want, loosing hours smelling the flowers, or spending time in emotions that really are not our real emotions, not doing the work we have to do, etc.)- rather than on this Full Moon getting deeply committed to what needs to be released and where our Saturn work is- visit Venus in the Leo where she is getting ready to turn around from her retrograde position.
Venus stations direct on Sept 3 at 12degrees Leo. Though the next day Jupiter stations retrograde at 15degrees Taurus- while conjunct the Moon and Trine the retrograded Mercury. This is a very important detail in our Mercury retrograde experience, as Mercury also stationed retrograde on August 23 at 21 degrees Virgo, while trine Uranus in Taurus. I feel that these three personal planets shifting their positions and perspectives has been extremely supportive and with Uranus in an unexpected way- if we chose to see it this way. This has been an unusual summer in so many ways. I feel that was deeply needed. I also feel that a lot of things are in this in-between cycle. Transformation also works that way while first we have to let go of the place we are standing in, then move, then be turned around this way and that- re-orientating our focus and our direction. This refocusing requires us to slow down- even if we are going forward. Right now Jupiter is a morning star near the star cluster of Pleiades - you can see it high in the sky in the wee hours of daylight, and if you are up before about 6am- you can also see the Pleiades. These are unique times, and when you have what you have going on it can be challenging to see the gift in that.
Grandmother Moon, please help me understand the energy around me and within me as I work to remove what blocks me from my real self in this Full Moon in Pisces.
We seem to forget how fragile our communication tools really are. When our outside world lives in cases ranging from laptops to cell phones, everything has a case- we become disconnected from the fragility of it all. As we come to times of harvest we can look at roots in the soil to get tactile with how easily broken the connections can be- but yet how strong some are. Similar examples can be found in relationships with others, the connections with some are far more fragile than with others. Even though the stronger connections are there, they are still fragile in the way that if left un-nurtured, unattended to, they too will weaken.
What I find genius about the Virgo Pisces axis is that our deep expanse and connectivity to all things (Pisces) is related to our ability to communicate and identify details with perspective in our lives (Virgo). In this way Pisces is really about our emotional communication and Virgo is how we experience and practice that within our material bodies. A tree needs to be a tree in order to connect with the All around it. We need to be fully human in order to connect with the All around us. To be fully human means developing and connecting all of the areas and senses within ourselves from the physical body, to the spiritual body to the emotional heart body in order to connect to the All around us. Kinda like how all directions of the planet receive equal sunlight in our daily rotations and our annual rotation around the Sun. The basement needs the same attention as the roof, our feet need love as our head does, same goes for each arm. Neglecting or not paying attention to any part ourselves creates a disconnect in communicating.
This full moon is going to be highly internal for us all with Mercury having recently stationed retrograde in the later degrees of Virgo. Fear not of the “usual” Mercury retrograde stuff- this is probably the best placed and aspected retrograde we can hope for at this time. In my opinion this Mercury cycle ending and beginning is supportive and meaningful if we chose to embrace it as such. With the Moon in Pisces we are diffusing and deepening with our emotional being to connect us further to the expanse of the all in everything- this transmission already doesn’t feel like my usual writing, it’s more straight forward as I sit in my emotions and communicate to you in words.
Another aspect of our Virgo communication is how we choose to be in service to the greater All around us, while remaining true to ourselves. There is a fragility to answering that question in that it seems at this time we do not treat or value these acts of service in an equal way. For example I had read a recent article siting that at home parents roughly work 97hour work weeks and in salary terms that was something like $187,000/year IF they got paid. That is the thing that got me- we do not pay for some jobs yet without them the world would literally stop functioning, instead we take them for granted. The list of serviceable job inequality is not new and the list is never ending. And in a world where living expenses are rising beyond the means of many, it seems that our choice to engage in work that means everything to our Soul could be on the brink of extinction. I really don’t believe it has to be this way, that we have to choose survival in this current expression of the world over what fills us with desire from our insides out.
To me, this means we are all being asked to change everything about the way we currently live in order to create a foundation that allows us to live and practice from our soul, being in service from this place does mean everything must change. Can we literally carry on without some jobs we currently need? Yes, I believe that. Because I believe that we really don’t need to have coffee on the go- especially with our current practices towards farming coffee beans. That is just one example of many that would change if everything about the way we engaged on the planet changed. Our focus and direction would shift, we would need different things and different things done.
Because communication is a relationship with the All around us, it does leave me to wonder about what would happen if we led soul directed lives and the impact that would have on the planet. The idea there is the more we choose to love ourselves, the more we would choose to love our home- Earth. Which would mean as we choose to hurt ourselves less, we would choose to hurt Earth less. I look at all the environmental things going on and wonder about it in a deep emotional way- our collective hurt is being mirrored back to us through all these disasters. Earth is hurting as much as we are. Our communication with Earth has become so fragile and weak we became disconnected from how to tend and nurture her, how to tend and nurture ourselves. That thought feels really sad to me, and in that sadness I feel motivated to step into the light of the Full Moon.
